The Flamberge is a dedicated open-flame rotisserie rather than a standard burner, so its gas supply, its spit motor and its turning mechanism are each checked separately when it stops working correctly. A weak or uneven flame beneath it is diagnosed the same way as any other La Cornue gas element — pressure and ignition first.
Because the spit motor and its gearing see continuous mechanical wear that a standard burner does not, a rotisserie that turns slowly or intermittently is checked there before the gas side is suspected.
